Description: Swiss Chard (from the garden!) Pesto Recipe PLUS an Easy Way to Freeze your Pesto for Future Use!
If you’re a gardener like us and have ever planted swiss chard, you too know that when it produces, it produces a lot! Often time your left wondering what to do or how to preserve your swiss chard harvest. Join us this week as we preserve the remainder of our spring swiss chard harvest by making a homemade pesto sauce that is easily frozen for use later. This pesto sauce will go great on any pasta, as a marinade for seafood or chicken, and can even be used to make pesto pizza. If you like basil pesto this tastes JUST as good and a great way to preserve your swiss chard harvest. This pesto sauce is easy as Sunday morning and don’t have to worry about exact measurements. If you don’t have pine nuts, don’t worry! You can substitute walnuts or almonds.

Our Liberty House is a gardening lifestyle channel. Lucas & Beth live in Zone 9b, Sacramento, CA, (with their dog, Liberty!) and garden in 6 raised beds in our backyard garden. Together, we garden year-round and share what we are growing and what we are learning along the way. Our gardening strategy is to create a garden full of diversity. We intermix vegetables, flowers, and herbs to create an ecosystem where beneficial insects thrive. We avoid all pesticides and instead plant things that will take care of pests for us. We compost and try to live a sustainable life where we can ‘eat what we grow’ from our backyard garden. Thanks for joining us on our journey!
